[First Bloom Daycares] Transition in Childcare
Hi {{first_name}},
As the saying goes, “Education begins the moment we see children as innately wise and capable beings. Only then can we play along in their world.” — Vince Gowmon.
This is true. Every child has their own capabilities and strengths to be the best version of themselves.
As children attending daycare, we help them grow and learn in different aspects.
But in reality, it might be hard for them to adjust to this transition that easily.
Here are the tips you can use when your child is transitioning into childcare which is shared with us by Early Childhood Consultation Partnership:
- Prepare the child for upcoming changes by telling them what is about to happen and carrying out a consistent transition routine.
- Talk with the child about what is happening while it is occurring.
- Support a calming and soothing atmosphere by providing access to blankets, stuffed toys, family photos, or pacifiers during transition times. This will help them learn how to self-soothe.
- Provide extra affection and closeness including hugs and reassuring words. Be available to support the child through stressful transitions.
- Give extra reassurance during specific times such as naptime/bedtime, mealtimes, daily routines and visits with family members.
There you go!
We hope it would be a great help to them as it did to some of our children.
For any questions or clarifications, don’t hesitate to message us through this email thread.
Thank you and we’ll see you soon!
With love,
Mrs. Mariela Eduardo and Team
